Phoenixville ousted by HGP

The Phoenixville boys soc­cer team’s sea­son came to a fin­ish on the doorstep of the PIAA Class 3A play­offs on Mon­day af­ter­noon.

The Phan­toms, the No. 5 seed in the District 1-3A play­offs, suf­fered a 4-2 loss against topseeded Holy Ghost Prep in the district semi­fi­nal round at Bryn Athyn Col­lege.

All four of Holy Ghost’s goals were scored by Nkosi Gra­ham, with three as­sists from Tyler Weimert in the win.

With the re­sult, HGP ad­vances to Thurs­day’s district cham­pi­onship game where they will face No. 2 seed Strath Haven at Up­per Me­rion at 7 p.m. The Fire­birds also earned a spot in the PIAA3A play­offs.

Phoenixville’s sea­son comes to a fin­ish at 12-6-2 over­all af­ter fin­ish­ing with a 7-2-1 PAC record.
