Ro­tary Club pic­nic to rec­og­nize schol­ars and he­roes

PRINCE GE­ORGE — The Ro­tary Club of Prince Ge­orge County will host its an­nual spring pic­nic on Wed­nes­day, May 17, 4-7 p.m. at the pavil­ion in Scott Park, 6680 Court­house Road.

Club mem­bers will cel­e­brate schol­ar­ship win­ners from Prince Ge­orge High School and two com­mu­nity he­roes who have sig­nif­i­cantly im­pacted the qual­ity of life in Prince Ge­orge County and demon­strate their com­mit­ment to “Ser­vice Above Self.” This year those he­roes are K. Wayne Wal­ton and Ralph Sum­mer­son. The Prince Ge­orge Ro­tary Busi­ness of the Year, The Herb Bas­ket, will also be rec­og­nized.

This event is open to the pub­lic and all are wel­come to at­tend. There will be bar­be­cue served up by Nanny’s Restau­rant and mu­sic by DJ Tony Wes­son.

Tick­ets are $25 per per­son and in­clude din­ner, bev­er­age, and dessert. Wine will be avail­able for pur­chase by the glass.

In a press re­lease, The Ro­tary Club ac­knowl­edges lo­cal spon­sors and com­mu­nity part­ners.
