Happy Mother’s Day ladies!

The Progress-Index Weekend - - OPINION - Wayne Robert Scott Petersburg

Almighty God blesses our homes when we respect our Mothers with kind words, attitude, and actions. Love her unconditionally. Forgive her compassionately. Remember her gratefully. Treat her kindly. Make it a habit to pray for her daily and contact her regularly. No Mother is perfect, but that doesn't change the fact that yours is a gift from Almighty God.

Give your Mother honor, and if you are a Mother, be worthy of your family's esteem. Expect obedience from your offspring - as well as respect, whether they are toddlers, high schoolers, college or university students, or retirees. Almighty God has given you charge over your children this Mother’s Day.

Sisters, you may feel distressed, disillusioned or abandoned by society, friends, and family this Mother’s Day, but Almighty God will not abandon you. Even if people forsake you, Almighty God will never forsake His own. Almighty God never forgets us.

Mother's Day is third only to Christmas and Easter in terms of church attendance in America. Christian tradition has all the reasons needed to support and honor Mother's every day of the year. Children are to bless their Mother, and husbands are to praise her not just on the second Sunday of May but throughout the year. Pray today, with thanksgiving, for Almighty God's blessings on those with the high calling of Motherhood.

On Mother's Day let's be on the lookout for those needing love. Our streets, stores, and even churches will be filled with lonely people. No one can be told too often that they are loved. Wives, daughters, and sisters all need to hear us say - "I love you" on Mother's Day. Mother's you have seeds of greatness.

If you are a Mother, you have tremendous influence in the lives of your children. There is no way to know how Almighty God will use them in the future, but whatever Almighty God plans may be, they will be.

Brothers and Sisters, is it possible that when we get to "Heaven" there will be a Mothers Honor Roll, listing the names of all the faithful mothers (Sarah Jane Robertson Scott) who prayed day and night on behalf of their children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Maybe, but this much we do know: Almighty God honors Mothers who honor Almighty God! But one thing is sure, when Mothers pray, Almighty God listens and lives are changed. So never stop praying for your kids, Mothers.

If we were asked to name the greatest and most influential people, we had probably think of presidents or leaders of industry, business, banking, media, or education because their decisions shape the world. But who shaped them? Perhaps one of the most influential people in anyone's life is a Mother. Be bless, be safe and be happy. Happy Mother’s Day.
