PETERSBURG — Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1021 Halifax St., recently held Vacation Bible School at the church. More than 150 students, staff and other volunteers participated in Bible studies, crafts and Performing Christian Arts activities, based upon Abingdon Press’ Summer VBS Program, “Super God! Super Me! Super Possibilities!

Super heroes in the personalities of “POWER MAN” and SUPER WOMAN” were surprise visitors throughout the week, delighting students of all ages; encouraging their attendance and reinforcing the week’s primary Scripture found in (1 John 4:4) - “The God in each of us is greater than he who is in the world”. Students came away with the idea that there is a super hero inside each of them in the personage of Jesus Christ, who empowers them for all things good.

Vacation Bible School classes were available for students from prekindergarten through adult.
