Woman killed in Dinwiddie car crash
State Police investigating
DINWIDDIE — A two vehicle crash in Dinwiddie on Thursday afternoon claimed the life of Jessica L. Fouts, 18, of Ford, Va. Authorities say she was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash that occurred on the 12000 block of White Oak Road around 5:20 p.m.
Fouts was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling north on White Oak Road when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a southbound 2017 Hyundai. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to spin off the road in opposite directions. Fouts died at the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai, 25-year-old female of Ford, Va., was transported to Southside Regional Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening, injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.
In a statement, Virginia State Police Trooper J.R. Thompson noted that the crash is still under investigation.
