Lions Club holds first meet­ing

Or­ga­ni­za­tion in­creases vis­i­bil­ity, wel­comes new mem­bers

PETERS­BURG — The Peters­burg Lions Club opened the 2017-2018 Club year with their first meet­ing on Sept. 7. Serv­ing as Lion pres­i­dent this year will be Lion Steve Cates; he has set out to in­crease the pub­lic’s aware­ness of what the Peters­burg Lions club does, in­crease vis­i­bil­ity within the city and to grow mem­ber­ship in the club.

The Lions’ up­com­ing club ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude a visit with the Lions Club Dis­trict Gov­er­nor in Oc­to­ber, send­ing mem­bers to the state level con­fer­ence, and com­ing in late Novem­ber, their an­nual Christ­mas tree lot to raise money for sight and hear­ing projects and char­i­ties.

The club meets the first and third Thurs­day of the month at Roma’s Ital­ian Restau­rant, 2447 County Drive.
