White, Gre­gory Ed­ward passed away Novem­ber 9, 2017. He was born on Septem­ber 2, 1948 in Wil­son, NC. He is pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Selby and El­iz­a­beth Boykin White.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 45 years, Juliet DiGi­u­lian White and daugh­ter, Theresa White Mitchell, hus­band, Leonard and grand­chil­dren Se­bas­tian and Cal­ista Mitchell. He leaves be­hind his brother Max FitzGer­ald and wife Della and sis­ter, Brenda Jones; along with sev­eral cousins, nieces and neph­ews.

Greg was a warm, lov­ing and kind man who cared deeply about his fam­ily and friends. His sense of hu­mor brought much joy to all of our lives. He al­ways brought light and love to the peo­ple he met, and was one of the best of men. A grad­u­ate in Me­chan­i­cal En­gi­neer­ing from Vir­ginia Tech, he was an avid fan of all Hokie sports, es­pe­cially foot­ball. Greg served in the VA Na­tional Guard and had a very suc­cess­ful 35 year ca­reer with the Depart­ment of De­fense. When he re­tired he was serv­ing as the first civil­ian Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Works and Lo­gis­tics at Fort Lee. He was a proac­tive man­ager and a nat­u­ral leader who knew how to lis­ten to his co­work­ers.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Mon­day, Novem­ber 13, 2017 at the Ch­ester Chapel of J.T. Mor­riss & Son Fu­neral Home. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sun­day, Novem­ber 12, 2017 at the fu­neral home. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate. In lieu of flow­ers the fam­ily re­quests memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions be made to YMCA of Greater Rich­mond – Ch­ester Branch, 3011 W.
