Mu­sic on the bluff

PETERSBURG — On Fri­day, Sept. 14, lo­cal mu­si­cians, Johnny Jones and Friends, will per­form at the Gen­eral Grant’s Head­quar­ters Unit of Petersburg Na­tional Bat­tle­field. The free 75-minute concert will be­gin at 6 p.m. on the north lawn of Ap­po­mat­tox Plan­ta­tion. Guests are in­vited to bring dinner, a blan­ket or lawn chairs, and en­joy some great mu­sic in one of the most his­toric and beau­ti­ful set­tings in the City of Hopewell.

Johnny Jones and Friends have been per­form­ing a wide range of mu­si­cal styles in the Rich­mond/ Petersburg area for years. The group con­sists of a va­ri­ety of per­form­ers from clas­si­cal mu­si­cians to front porch pick­ers who present Amer­i­cana, Celtic, folk, gospel, blue­grass and coun­try mu­sic.
