ANNIE W. JACKSON
God called another one of his Angels home Annie Woodley Jackson, affectionately known as Big Mama on October 9, 2018, at Dinwiddie Health and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born November 1, 1932, to the late Lubin and Francis Woodley of Amelia, VA. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Francis Williams and Eleanor Brown; brothers, Willie, Anthony, Benny, and Robert Wade Woodley.
Annie was a member of the Branches Runn Baptist Church of Amelia, VA, where she faithfully served on the Missionary Ministry until her health declined.
She attended and graduated from Russell Grove High School. Annie retired from Levi Strauss Sewing Factory after 20+ years of service.
Annie is survived by 5 daughters, Mary Woodley of Amelia, VA, Charlotte Edmonds of Blackstone, VA, Deacon Patricia Jackson of Ford, VA, Mae Jones of Dinwiddie, VA, and Deacon Tina Mason (Calvin) of Ford, VA; 2 sons, William Curtis Jackson of Hopewell, VA, and Lorenzo Jackson of Petersburg, VA; 2 brothers, Deacon Frank Woodley (Rosa) and Thomas Woodley (Patsy) of Blackstone, VA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Antionette Woodley, Angela Edmonds, Tiffaney Jackson, Lisa Jennings(Russell), Lorenzo Rouse, Stephanie Winfield, Tavaris Jones, and Kristina Mason; 10 great-grandchildren, Trevor Jackson, Jaquan Jennings, Javon Jennings, Makiya Fowlkes, Jaykala Booker, Darrius Jackson, Jhamari Booker, Lashaud Rouse, Skylar Stewart, and LaShae Hardy Rouse; one great great-grandchild Milan Jackson; 3 sistersin-law, Mary Rosa Robinson(Fred), Margie Brookes, Shirley Jackson and Virginia Woodley; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; 2 devoted nieces, Rebecca Edmonds(Richard) and Felicia Woodley; individuals who were close and special to her, Ann Jones, Walter Drew, Queen Finney, Helen Thorpe, and a special thanks to the Dinwiddie Health and Rehabilitation Facility.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 2:00pm at Branches Runn Baptist Church, 3830 Woodley Drive, Amelia Court House, VA. A public viewing will be from 10am-8pm at the Petersburg-Chapel Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 530 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA (804) 863-4411.
