RBC Soccer ties Louisburg
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE - The Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's soccer team on Wednesday tied Louisburg 1-1 in double overtime at Statesman Soccer field.
With this result, the Statesmen improve to 10-2-2 for the season. The Statesmen will next play USC Union away on Saturday, Oct. 13 for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Statesmen held Louisburg to a stalemate in the first half of the game. In the second half, Lousiburg scored a goal boosting their score ahead of the Statesmen. Statesmen's sophomore Romeo Kayizali scored a goal assited by freshman Henrique Castelhano to make it a tied game. Both teams held each other scoreless until the end of the second half, causing the game to go into overtime. No one scored during the first overtime, resulting in the game going to double overtime. Louisburg came close to scoring during the second overtime, but sophomore Seth Perez made an important save to keep the game tied at 1-1 for the final score.
