RBC Soc­cer ties Louis­burg

SOUTH PRINCE GE­ORGE - The Richard Bland Col­lege of William & Mary men's soc­cer team on Wed­nes­day tied Louis­burg 1-1 in dou­ble over­time at States­man Soc­cer field.

With this re­sult, the States­men im­prove to 10-2-2 for the sea­son. The States­men will next play USC Union away on Satur­day, Oct. 13 for a 3:30 p.m. kick­off.

The States­men held Louis­burg to a stale­mate in the first half of the game. In the sec­ond half, Lousi­burg scored a goal boost­ing their score ahead of the States­men. States­men's sopho­more Romeo Kay­izali scored a goal as­sited by fresh­man Hen­rique Castel­hano to make it a tied game. Both teams held each other score­less un­til the end of the sec­ond half, caus­ing the game to go into over­time. No one scored dur­ing the first over­time, re­sult­ing in the game go­ing to dou­ble over­time. Louis­burg came close to scor­ing dur­ing the sec­ond over­time, but sopho­more Seth Perez made an im­por­tant save to keep the game tied at 1-1 for the fi­nal score.
