DEBORAH J. CROCKER
“You don’t know my story… You don’t know the things I’ve been through… You Cannot imagine… the pain and trials, I’ve had to endure… But through it all God has been faithful to me…” On Monday, January 9, 2017, God called our beloved sister, Deborah Jean Crocker at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Va.
He promised He would never leave me… My story proves that God can use me… and deliverance and sickness is my testimony… You don’t know my story! Deborah was born on April 12, 1953, in the oldest Black Community in America, “Pocahontas Island” to Howard Crocker and Mary J. Crocker.
Deborah was a lifelong resident of Petersburg, Va. She loved playing cards, collecting dolls, stuffed animals and money was next to her family.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; grandmother, Julia Crocker; and three aunts, Connie, Vera and Gladys Crocker.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two brothers, Howard C. Crocker (Marilyn) of East Orange, NJ, and Wallace Jennings of Rialto, CA; five sisters, Shelia E. Crocker of Atlanta, Ga., Barbara A. Crocker (devoted who mothered us all), Cynthia J. Sykes (Clarence), Dreama T. Robinson (Timothy) of Petersburg, Va., and Sharon J. Pettaway (Bobby) of Prince George, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to name from Petersburg, Richmond, Fredericksburg, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, to California.
This is the final chapter and the peaceful conclusion of the miraculous story in God’s Book of Life for our beloved sister, Deborah Jean Crocker, rest beyond the peaceful shores!

Services for Ms. Deborah J. Crocker will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Merle Keene, eulogist. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will assemble at 2 p.m. the day of the services at 303 St. Luke Street, Petersburg, Va.
