“You don’t know my story… You don’t know the things I’ve been through… You Can­not imag­ine… the pain and tri­als, I’ve had to en­dure… But through it all God has been faith­ful to me…” On Mon­day, Jan­uary 9, 2017, God called our beloved sis­ter, Deb­o­rah Jean Crocker at South­side Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Peters­burg, Va.

He promised He would never leave me… My story proves that God can use me… and de­liv­er­ance and sick­ness is my tes­ti­mony… You don’t know my story! Deb­o­rah was born on April 12, 1953, in the old­est Black Com­mu­nity in Amer­ica, “Poc­a­hon­tas Is­land” to Howard Crocker and Mary J. Crocker.

Deb­o­rah was a life­long res­i­dent of Peters­burg, Va. She loved play­ing cards, col­lect­ing dolls, stuffed an­i­mals and money was next to her fam­ily.

She was pre­ceded in death by her fa­ther and mother; grand­mother, Ju­lia Crocker; and three aunts, Con­nie, Vera and Gla­dys Crocker.

She leaves to cher­ish her mem­o­ries, two broth­ers, Howard C. Crocker (Mar­i­lyn) of East Orange, NJ, and Wal­lace Jen­nings of Rialto, CA; five sis­ters, She­lia E. Crocker of At­lanta, Ga., Bar­bara A. Crocker (de­voted who moth­ered us all), Cyn­thia J. Sykes (Clarence), Dreama T. Robin­son (Ti­mothy) of Peters­burg, Va., and Sharon J. Pet­t­away (Bobby) of Prince Ge­orge, Va.; and a host of nieces, neph­ews, great and great-great nieces and neph­ews, cousins, and friends too nu­mer­ous to name from Peters­burg, Rich­mond, Fred­er­icks­burg, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, to Cal­i­for­nia.

This is the fi­nal chap­ter and the peace­ful con­clu­sion of the mirac­u­lous story in God’s Book of Life for our beloved sis­ter, Deb­o­rah Jean Crocker, rest be­yond the peace­ful shores!

Ser­vices for Ms. Deb­o­rah J. Crocker will be held at 3 p.m. Satur­day, Jan­uary 14, 2017, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilk­er­son Fu­neral Es­tab­lish­ment, Inc., 102 South Av­enue, Peters­burg, Va., the Rev. Merle Keene, eu­lo­gist. In­ter­ment to fol­low at Wilk­er­son Me­mo­rial Ceme­tery.

The fam­ily will as­sem­ble at 2 p.m. the day of the ser­vices at 303 St. Luke Street, Peters­burg, Va.
