Mrs. Florence V. Epps of Dis­putanta de­parted this life on Sun­day, Jan­uary 1, 2017, at the Colo­nial Heights Health Care and Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­ter.

She was a na­tive of Surry County and the daugh­ter of the late Hugh and Elsie Moody. She was also pre­ceded in death by her hus­band of forty-seven years, Calvin H. Epps, Sr.; a son, Calvin H. Epps, Jr.; three broth­ers, James, Ben­jamin and John Moody; and two sis­ters, Hester Epps and Eleanor Robin­son.

She ac­cepted Christ at an early age and was a mem­ber of Union Bap­tist Church.

She leaves to cher­ish her mem­ory, two sons, Arthur Moody and Aubrey Epps (Brenda); three daugh­ters, Rosetta Butts (Rus­sell), Brenda Turner (Art), Elsie Epps; a faith­ful daugh­terin-law, Pear­lie Epps; three sis­ters-in-law, Myr­tle Moody, Peggy Moody and Lil­lian Epps; one broth­erin-law, James Robin­son, Sr. She also leaves nine­teen grand­chil­dren, forty-four great grand­chil­dren; six great-great grand­chil­dren and a host of nieces and neph­ews.

The fam­ily wishes to thank the Colo­nial Heights Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­ter for their ser­vices.

Ser­vices for Mrs. Florence V. Epps will be held at 2 p.m. Thurs­day, Jan­uary 12, 2017, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilk­er­son Fu­neral Es­tab­lish­ment, Inc., 102 South Av­enue, Peters­burg, Va., the Rev. Dr. Robert El­liott, Jr., Pas­tor of Morn­ing Star Bap­tist Church, Bur­rowsville, Va., eu­lo­gist. In­ter­ment to fol­low at Swan’s Point Bap­tist Church Ceme­tery.
