FLORENCE V. EPPS
Mrs. Florence V. Epps of Disputanta departed this life on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native of Surry County and the daughter of the late Hugh and Elsie Moody. She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Calvin H. Epps, Sr.; a son, Calvin H. Epps, Jr.; three brothers, James, Benjamin and John Moody; and two sisters, Hester Epps and Eleanor Robinson.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Arthur Moody and Aubrey Epps (Brenda); three daughters, Rosetta Butts (Russell), Brenda Turner (Art), Elsie Epps; a faithful daughterin-law, Pearlie Epps; three sisters-in-law, Myrtle Moody, Peggy Moody and Lillian Epps; one brotherin-law, James Robinson, Sr. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Florence V. Epps will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Dr. Robert Elliott, Jr., Pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church, Burrowsville, Va., eulogist. Interment to follow at Swan’s Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
