Mar­garet F. Jack­son, 98, of Colo­nial Heights passed away on Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 10. Mar­garet was born in Peters­burg on Novem­ber 10, 1918. She lived in Ch­ester­field and grad­u­ated from Ch­ester High School. She was pre­de­ceased by her par­ents, Ed­ward L. Fowlkes and An­nie Hatcher Fowlkes; and her hus­band, Ben­jamin L. Jack­son. Mar­garet was the re­tired man­ager of Flora Hill Ele­men­tary School cafe­te­ria. Mrs. Jack­son en­joyed cook­ing, gar­den­ing, read­ing, trav­el­ing with friends and spend­ing time at High­land United Methodist Church. She spent win­ters in Clear­wa­ter, Flor­ida, for as long as she could travel, and en­joyed fish­ing while she was there.

She is sur­vived by her only child, Richard W. Jack­son (Dianna); three grand­daugh­ters, Sa­man­tha Row­land (Mark), Heather Rock­wood (Jon) and Holly Jack­son; four great-grand­chil­dren, Scott Miller, Jesse Miller, Cam­den Barnes and Ruby Bar­rett. The fam­ily would like to ex­press their gratitude for the ex­cel­lent care Mar­garet re­ceived at the Dun­lop House for the last eight months and from Crater Com­mu­nity Hospice for the last three weeks.

A fu­neral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Fri­day, Jan­uary 13, 2017, in High­land United Methodist Church, 125 E. Westover Av­enue, Colo­nial Heights, VA 23834, with the Rev­erend Wil­liam Rawl­ings of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low in Sun­set Me­mo­rial Park, Ch­ester, Va. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thurs­day night, Jan­uary 12, 2017, at the Colo­nial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Fu­neral Homes and Cre­ma­tory, 2033 Boule­vard.
