States­men tied for No. 6

Richard Bland moves up in na­tional rank­ings

SOUTH PRINCE GE­ORGE — Richard Bland Col­lege has moved up to a tie at No. 6 in this week’s NJCAA Di­vi­sion II Men’s Bas­ket­ball Poll, as re­leased Wed­nes­day morn­ing.

The na­tion­ally-ranked States­men are cur­rently 12-2 over­all, in­clud­ing 5-0 in Re­gion X, with eight con­sec­u­tive wins – the last four re­gion wins by an av­er­age of 28 points (at Pitt CC, 80-57; Catawba Val­ley CC, 89-66; Guil­ford Tech CC, 103-67; at Vance-Granville CC, 99-68).

Richard Bland is tied at No. 6 this week with An­cilla (Ind.) Col­lege (12-1), up from its No. 9 na­tional rank­ing in the most re­cent poll re­leased be­fore the hol­i­days (12⁄20).

South Sub­ur­ban (Ill.) Col­lege (17-0) is ranked No. 1 for the third­straight poll, while Re­gion X mem­ber Louis­burg (N.C.) Col­lege (9-3) is ranked No. 16 this week. The States­men will play the first of their two reg­u­lar sea­son

games against Louis­burg this Satur­day, Jan. 14 at 3 p.m. in North Carolina.
