PETERS­BURG — Ap­po­mat­tox Re­gional Governor’s School con­trolled their home court to de­feat Sus­sex Cen­tral 50-34. Jada Boyd led ARGS with 22 points and her team­mate Rae Hen­der­son scored 13. Hit­ting three­p­oint­ers for ARGS were Ashanti Jor­dan and Siani Nero.

Na­jah Patterson led Sus­sex with 10 points - all of them com­ing in the fourth quar­ter - and hit the team’s lone three pointer of the game.

With their vic­tory over Sus­sex, the ARGS Dragons im­proved to 6-5.

The Dragons rolled out to a 26-10 half­time lead be­hind 14 points from Boyd. The sopho­more’s in­side game was on fire as she net­ted four two-point buck­ets in her 11-point first quar­ter ef­fort. Hen­der­son con­trib­uted eight points in the first half.
