UPMC hospital cited: Staff took pics of patient’s genitals
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has cited a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center hospital where staff took cellphone photos and videos of a patient being treated for a “foreign body” lodged in their genitals. UPMC says the behavior is “abhorrent and violates the mission of UPMC Bedford” — where the incident took place Dec. 23 — “and the overall values of UPMC.” The hospital network, Pennsylvania’s largest, says it self-reported the violations. Pennlive. com reports on employee came forward to complain about the images circulating around the hospital.
