HOPEWELL’S SEAN ALLEN IS FOOTBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Hopewell receiver scores 3 TDs in 55-6 win over CH
HOPEWELL - Hopewell Football wide receiver Sean Allen was voted The Progress-Index FOOTBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK.
The 6-0, 155-pound junior caught five passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns and rushed the ball twice for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Hopewell Blue Devils’ 55-6 blowout victory over the Colonial Heights Colonials.
Hopewell Football has now won four consecutive Progress-Index FOOTBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK awards this season.
Allen received 35.47 percent of 702 votes cast for the Football Athlete of the Week poll on The Progress-Index website. In addition to Allen, candidates for the honor were Thomas Dale's Chris Tyree, Dinwiddie's Zyan Sturdivant, Marcell Canty of Prince George and L.C. Bird's C.J. Donaldson.
Candidates for FOOTBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK will be made available on www.progress-index.com each Saturday and in print on Sunday following game day on Friday evening.
