On Sun­day af­ter­noon, Oc­to­ber 8, 2017, our loved one tran­si­tioned from la­bor to re­ward at South­side Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter. Mil­ton May­field was born April 4, 1952. He was ed­u­cated in the Ch­ester­field County Public Schools and was a brick­layer by trad e. At an early age, Mil­ton joined the Lee’s Chapel A.M.E. Church, now Com­mu­nity In­de­pen­dence Methodist Church.

He had a love for fish­ing, foot­ball [Den­ver Bron­cos] and en­joyed a friendly game of cards with his friends, F. Tay­lor, R. Branch, L. Brooks, C. Woody, A. Wynn, to name a few.

He was pre­ceded in death by his stepfather, Gar­land Evans Jr.; and brother, Wil­lie May­field.

Mil­ton leaves to cher­ish his mem­ory his mother, Otelia Evans; de­voted com­pan­ion for over seven­teen years, Elsie D. Epps; one daugh­ter, Deme­tria Walker (Ron) and grand­chil­dren, D’Asia Walker, D’Shay Smith, Ron Smith Jr., Ryan Smith, Royal Smith, D’Nay Rawl­ings and Di­a­mond Rawl­ings; sis­ter, Dolly Lively (Tony); four broth­ers, Richard, Keith (Glo­ria) and Tony Evans and Stefan May­field (Ju­lia); sis­ter-in-law, Audrey Evans; three aunts, Sarah Hines of Ch­ester­field, Va., Cather­ine Parham of Ford, Va., and Ju­lia May­field. He also leaves his ex­tended fam­ily, Mon­ica Ben­jamin, Fred­die Ben­jamin III and Tawanna Epps and Mrs. Ellen Drew; a host of nieces, neph­ews, cousins and fam­ily and friends, in­clud­ing de­voted neigh­bors, Phoebe Brown and Thomas Brown and long­time and de­voted friend, Mr. David D. Drew.

Ser­vices for Mr. Mil­ton B. May­field will be held at 2 p.m. Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14, 2017, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilk­er­son Fu­neral Es­tab­lish­ment, Inc., 102 South Av­enue, Peters­burg, Va., Rev. Pate Pear­son, Pas­tor of Com­mu­nity In­de­pen­dent Methodist Church, eu­lo­gist.
