Edna Mae Boguess Mil­ton Tingler, age 86, of 315 Com­merce Av­enue, Iron Gate, Va., died on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 8, 2017, at the home of her son and daugh­ter in Ch­ester­field County, sur­rounded by her loved ones.

She was born June 16, 1931, in Bote­tourt County to the late Lee and Daisy Brough­man Boguess. For many years, Edna worked for the Peters­burg Public School Sys­tem in the cafe­te­ria, and was owner/op­er­a­tor of her own in-home day­care, Lit­tle Peo­ple’s Uni­ver­sity, in Peters­burg. She was also a li­censed cos­me­tol­o­gist and a mem­ber of Iron Gate Church of God of Prophecy. She vol­un­teered with League of Older Amer­i­cans at The Brian Cen­ter Health and Rehab.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Edna was pre­ceded in death by her first hus­band, Clarence W. “Frisky” Mil­ton, Sr.; a son, Clarence W. “Jun­nie” Mil­ton, Jr.; three sis­ters, Thelma Camp­bell, Betty Clark, and Marie Boguess; and a brother, Al­fred Boguess.

She is sur­vived by her cur­rent hus­band, Wil­liam “Bill” Tingler of Iron Gate; a daugh­ter, Gail M. Gib­son (Robert) of Chris­tians­burg; and a son, Bur­ton D. Mil­ton (Ta­mara) of Ch­ester­field County; a step­daugh­ter, Carolyn T. Sny­der (Andy); five grand­chil­dren, Brandy M Gra­ham (James), Jen­nifer Jor­dan (Mike), Jes­sica Gib­son Mor­gan (Joe), Brit­tany M. John­son, and Bethany M. Thomp­son (Blake); a step grand­son, Andy “Buck” Sny­der, Jr.; five great grand­chil­dren, Bryanna Gra­ham, Aryanna Gra­ham, Katalin Gib­son, An­drew Gib­son, and Sierra Jor­dan; a great-great grand­child, Ni­cole; two sis­ters, El­iz­a­beth “Libby’ McCoy and Martha Sim­mons; former spouse, Frank L. Saun­ders; and a num­ber of nieces and neph­ews.

Edna’s fam­ily would like to ex­tend their deep­est grat­i­tude to Jes­sica from Amer­iCare Al­leghany Vir­ginia and to Paulina and Saba from Care Fam­ily of Vir­ginia, all of Colo­nial Heights, and also the staff of En­com­pass in Peters­burg and James River Hospice in Rich­mond.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Fu­neral Home, Clifton Forge, with Rev­erend Edith Snede­gar of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low in Bethel United Methodist Church Ceme­tery, Bote­tourt County. Edna’s grand­chil­dren will serve as pall­bear­ers. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends on Satur­day af­ter­noon from 1 p.m. un­til the time of ser­vice at Nicely Fu­neral Home.
