Voter turnout in Prince George strong

The Progress-Index - - OPINION - Staff Report

Prince George County had a large voter turnout at its most populated precinct on Tuesday with more than 600 voters casting their ballots by 10 a.m. at N.B Clements Jr. High School.

Electoral officials said they were pleased with the number of people coming in and out as the day had a steady flow despite the fact that there were no local offices up for reelection.

Voters were at the polls to decide on a Virginia Senate seat, the 4th District Congressional seat and two constitutional amendments.

Both Prince George Republican and Democratic committees were represented as volunteers passed out information on the candidates they supported.
