Ad­die “Blanche” Hill tran­si­tioned to be with the Lord on Novem­ber 3, 2018, at South­side Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter. Blanche was born on Novem­ber 12,1942, in Stony Creek, VA, to the Late John D and Sa­van­nah L. Reed. Blanche would want you to know that she lived a good and fun filled life.

Blanche Joined the Galilee Bap­tist Church of Stony Creek, VA, at a very early age and en­joyed wor­ship­ping the Lord. She had a pas­sion for cook­ing, hairstyling and help­ing peo­ple.

Blanche was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Roo­sevelt “Billy” Win­field. From that union, they had their only daugh­ter, Phyl­lis Wil­liams Small­wood. Years af­ter her hus­band’s pass­ing, Blanche united with Robert Hill Jr. and had a long and lov­ing union for over 52 years.

At an early age, blanche al­ways had a hard­work­ing spirit and most times seemed to en­joy work­ing. Be­cause of her many pas­sions and skills, she chose to en­ter en­trepreneur­ship. She at­tained her food safety cer­ti­fi­ca­tion and Beau­ti­cian Li­cense prior to start­ing her busi­ness ven­tures. She owned and op­er­ated B & P Beauty Salon for over 35 years and the Tas­tee Hut for over 28 years. Blanche en­joyed many hob­bies in her spare time in­clud­ing cook­ing, man­i­cur­ing her yard, singing in the Stony Creek Com­bined Gospel Cho­rus, and most of all spend­ing qual­ity time with her loved ones. She shared a spe­cial com­pas­sion with ev­ery­one she met.

She was pre­ceded in death by a host of brothers, sis­ters, step brothers, step sis­ters, nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

Left to cher­ish her mem­ory is her de­voted and lov­ing daugh­ter, Phyl­lis Small­wood of Dis­putanta, VA; her grand­son, who was the ap­ple of her eye, Clay­ton Ja­mal Wil­liams (Alysia) of Toano, VA; and her pre­cious great­grand­daugh­ter, Tea­gan Au­ria Wil­liams. Also left to cher­ish her mem­ory are her de­voted brother, Jimmy R. Reed (Frances); step brother, Joseph Massen­burg; brothers-in­law, Char­lie G. Shine, Sam Tay­lor; two aunts, An­nie Harper and Cather­ine Reed; one un­cle, Nor­man Ma­son (Juliet) and a host of won­der­ful nieces, neph­ews, cousins, and other rel­a­tives. Blanche had many spe­cial peo­ple in her life who en­cour­aged her to con­tinue en­joy­ing life: Jimmy & Frances, Lewis Claud, Cherry Ruf­fin, Sheila Gur­ley, Char­lie Shine Jr., Cather­ine Cole, Ruth Hill, Ros­alind Shep­pard, Louise Givens, Clay­ton Wil­liams, Joe & Elaine Dillard and Clarence Parham.

Blanche was like a mother to many and a great friend to many and the Tas­tee Hut em­ploy­ees had al­ways had a spe­cial place in her heart.

Fu­neral ser­vice for Ms. Hill will be 11:00am Satur­day, Novem­ber 10, 2018, at Galilee Bap­tist Church, 12392 Lee Av­enue Stony Creek, VA, Rev. Lin­wood James Sr., eu­lo­gist.
