Un­cle Sam Lanes to host Bowl­ing for Vets

Un­cle Sam Lanes, 600 Ful­ton St., will host a spe­cial event from 2 to 4 p.m. Satur­day to raise money for an adap­tive sports pro­gram that helps dis­abled veterans.

Bowl­ing for Vets will raise money for Team Al­bany Adap­tive Sports, a pro­gram based at the Strat­ton Veteran’s Af­fairs Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Al­bany that pro­vides adap­tive equip­ment to help veterans with dis­abil­i­ties such as spinal cord in­jury, am­pu­ta­tion, vis­ual im­pair­ment, trau­matic brain in­jury and post-trau­matic stress dis­or­der to par­tic­i­pate in re­cra­tional sports.

The cost to par­tic­i­pate is $20 per per­son or $100 for a team or five and in­cludes two hours of bowl­ing, shoes and mu­sic, with door prizes, raf­fles and a 50-50 draw­ing and food avail­able for pur­chase.
