New York City man killed in weekend crash on Route 20
State police investigators are trying to determine the cause of a twovehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Route 20 that left an elderly man dead.
Troopers said they responded about 5:30 p.m. Saturday after an eastbound car driven by William F. Winter, 86, of the Bronx, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a care driven by Lynn E. Kane, 57, of East Schodack.
Winter was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, while his wife, Iris, 87, was taken to Albany Medical Center with fractured ribs. Kane was also taken to Albany Medical Center complaining of chest, arm and knee pain.
Troopers closed the road for about four hours while performing their initial investigation. That investigation is continuing, troopers said, and no charges have been filed, though investigators said all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
