Town po­lice of­fi­cer pro­moted to sergeant

Town Po­lice Of­fi­cer Josiah Deeb was of­fi­cially pro­moted to sergeant dur­ing a cer­e­mony at Thurs­day’s Town Board meet­ing.

Deeb, who has been with the depart­ment since 2012, was pro­moted to fill a va­cancy on the force, Many ac­tive and re­tired mem­bers of the depart­ment were present for the cer­e­mony.

“He is well-de­serv­ing of this pro­mo­tion and will do a great job,” Chief Robert Durvi­age said.

“Sgt. Deeb has lead­er­ship qual­i­ties and the ex­pe­ri­ence nec­es­sary for this po­si­tion,” added town Su­per­vi­sor Lou Desso, “and we’re pleased to make this pro­mo­tion.”
