A RENEWED PURPOSE
Former Germania Hall converted into events facility
TROY, N.Y.» The building that was once Lansingburgh’s longtime Germania Hall is now reopen and welcoming guests as Parti Events & Banquet Hall.
The large 309 Third Ave. building, originally constructed in 1953 as Germania Hall, nowhas a newpurpose.
Following renovations, the venue can host weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, banquets, bereavements, meetings, luncheons, showers and more - for groups both large and small.
Customers can rent out the main hall, the party room, the bar area or the entire two-story building for their special occasion.
Those who aren’t in the market to book an event can still come check out the hall’s restaurant.
The 40-seat bar and restaurant is open for Locals Night every Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to close, featuring an allnight happy hour and pubstyle food.
Since starting up a few weeks ago, the naked chicken wings, deep-fried shepherd’s pie and New England clam chowder have been popular orders at the pub, along with $3 domestic beers and $5 well drinks.
A three- course, one-price dinner menu is coming soon too.
Parti Events & Banquet Hall is a joint effort be- tween Brad Stevens, who is also owner and chef of Brads Catering and B-rads Express and his father Mark Stevens, chef and owner of Park Pub Restaurant & Catering at the Frear Park Municipal Golf Course, as well as their business partner and family friend Scott Conroy.
Since reopening for events, and with the restaurant, the owners have seen many local folks from the Troy German Hall Association, from which they bought the building in 2016. “They’re happy it’s been revitalized,” Stevens said.
Some who got married at Germania Hall years ago have even been back to celebrate anniversaries. “Back in the day everyone got married here,” Stevens said, and he hopes to make that the trend once again.
Couples can get married on the ground floor, then head downstairs for cocktail hour, and return back to the main hall for dinner and dancing.
The space can accommodate as many as 200 guests in its main hall, or 160 with a dance floor, while the downstairs party room is perfect for showers or birthday parties with less than 100 guests.
Catering, dishware, tables, chairs, linens and decor are all part of the package. “It’s a one stop shop,” Stevens said. “You get everything.”
Parti Events & Banquet Hall has event package details listed on its website.
Catering for special events is completely customizable. “We’ll do whatever you want,” Stevens said. “We’re very open to what people need.” Stevens As a nod to the hall’s German history, Parti Events & Banquet Hall has a pub labeled Ratskellar, a German word for a basement bar.
even prepared Nigerian food for one wedding, and the party said they loved it.
Owning and operating a venue like Parti Events & Banquet Hall is something Stevens has always wanted to do, and people have been asking him to do it for a long time, too. After catering off-premise for many years, “It’s so much easier to do it in your own space,” he said.
With a large staff already hired, Stevens said his goal for Parti Events & Banquet Hall is to be booked every day, expanding more into luncheons and meetings during the week.
The venue is currently booking weddings into 2019 and 2020.
While the remodeling process is nearing completion, the one final phase is adding a bridal suite.
