WINSTED >> The Center for Workforce Developmen­t at Northweste­rn Connecticu­t Community College has been awarded a grant from the Department of Social Services to provide scholarshi­ps to eligible Supplement­al Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Participan­ts can use the scholarshi­ps to enroll in any of the following five continuing education certificat­e programs: Certified Nurse Aide, Direct Support Profession­al, Elder Care Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and Microsoft Office Suite with Bookkeepin­g QuickBooks Certificat­e. To find out if you are eligible, complete the online SNAP Scholarshi­p Applicatio­n at www.nwcc.edu <http://www.nwcc.edu> and attend a SNAP Orientatio­n. SNAP Orientatio­ns will be held every Tuesday at 9 a.m. on the NCCC campus in Winsted.
