Volunteers needed for Rebuild Day on April 29
NEW MILFORD >> Rebuilding Together Litchfield County will take on major home repairs at 12 different sites on Saturday, April 29. Volunteers will meet at a central location –Education without Walls, 64 Railroad St., New Milford — to organize into groups and head out to home sites.
Projects include everything from general cleanup to replacing roofs, doors and windows. Skilled contractors will handle electrical work and plumbing, while volunteers will take on a wide variety of jobs under the capable supervision of house captains.
Rebuilding Together Litchfield County is the local branch of a national nonprofit organization that provides emergency and home modification needs of older homeowners, or families with young children, who lack the means to make necessary repairs.
The goal of the organization is to help these people make their homes warm, safe and dry. Rebuilding Together has donated thousands of hours, plus materials, to repair over 200 homes in Litchfield County.

This year’s group will meet at 64 Railroad Street at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, for coffee and doughnuts. Volunteers can build their own lunch box and then head out with a house captain to a work site. More volunteers are always welcome.
