Art league to hold exhibit, sale
WOODBURY » The Watertown Art League is having their annual Fall Art Exhibition and Sale of fine art, Sept. 22-24 at the Old TownHall in Woodbury on the corner of 5 Mountain Road and Main Street North.
Hours are Friday, 1-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The show includes a variety of original art, in various media and sizes that will be available for purchase.

Milton church to hold silent auction, tag, bake sale
LITCHFIELD » Milton Congregational Church of Litchfield will hold its annual tag and bake sale on Sept. 22-23, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sept. 24, 12-3 p.m. Sunday is a real bargain day. As always, you can find pretty much everything at the Tag Sale from furniture to antiques, from jewelry to linens, from books to lamps, from tools to toys. The ladies of the church will also have their famous homemade jams, jellies, pickles, relish, and baked goods for sale. We will feature door prizes consisting of items donated by local area merchants. Again this year there is a “Seasonal Celebration” room where you can find decorations for Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and Thanksgiving festivities.
New this year is a silent auction of antiques, vintage furniture, and other selected finer items. The silent auction runs from 9-11 a.m. on Friday Sept. 22. Take time between bids to shop the rest of the tag sale; the church will accept cash or checks. There will be no early access to the tag sale.
Drop by the church located at 548 Milton Road, in Milton center, a beautiful four-mile country ride from Route 202 in Litchfield and browse the tastefully displayed treasures and even stop to enjoy a gourmet hot dog from Salty Dog Hot Dogs.
New Hartford Day is today
The 44th Annual New Hartford Day and Eureka Grange Fair will be held Sunday at Brodie Park on West Hill Pond in New Hartford from 10 a.m.-4p.m. More than 50 local businesses and civic organizations will be participating. The day will feature hayrides, great food, crafts, area vendors and music provided by the country group The Chaparrals. New Hartford Day is a great way to find out what is going on in New Hartford, all are welcome. Ad- mission to the event is free, and parking is $2 to support Boy Scout Troop #19.
Wine & Food Tasting tickets available
TORRINGTON » The Warner Theatre will hold its 16th Annual Wine & Food Tasting on Friday, Oct. 27 from 6-9 p.m. General Admission and VIP Admission tickets are available now. For 15 years, the Warner has hosted the Wine & Food Tasting fundraising event, drawing people from throughout Northwest Connecticut and beyond. This year’s event features selections from more than 30 international wine, craft beer and spirit vendors, 15 area restaurants and a penny auction.
The exclusive VIP Room, located in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, includes specialized catering, a private tasting of premium wines and spirits and live entertainment. This year’s tasting is presented in association with The Cork Fine Wine & Spirits.
General admission tickets are $25; VIP admission tickets are $75. VIP tickets allow admittance to the VIP Room (limited availability). Commercial drones are topic of program
TORRINGTON » TheWarnerTheatre and the Entrepreneurial Center of Northwest Connecticut Community College will present “Discover the Commercial Use of Drones” on Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Warner’s Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. The fee for this course is $25.
Come learn about the technology, business, applications and regulatory compliance of Unmanned Aerial Devices (UAVs) – Drones. Become an emerging business in the application of drone usage to propel your business to the next level. Who should attend? Businesses and entrepreneurs in the fields of construction, agriculture, real estate, life and safety, insurance, photography, media and more.
Corey Morin is a licensed FAA Drone pilot and will offer a live demonstration of drone flight in the Studio Theatre. He will discuss and answer questions about the applications of drone usage in this innovative field. Nina Anderson is a FAA pilot with years of experience as a corporate pilot and she will discuss and answer aviation issues such as air space safety.
