Panthers: Deal signed for sale

-

The Carolina Panthers say they've signed an agreement to sell the team to David Tepper. Tepper is the founder and president of global hedge fund Appaloosa Management. The deal is subject to NFL approval and the Panthers. Tepper has been a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2009. The 60-yearold Tepper says he'll “build upon the Panthers' success on the field and in the community.” ... The Bills plan to retire Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas' No. 34 jersey Oct. 29 when they host the Patriots.
