TOWAMENCIN >> A 26-yearold Towamencin woman is facing numerous criminal counts for allegedly slamming into a parked car while drunk then bailing out of the car and fleeing on foot, according to police.

Vaimoana Stephanie Olomua, of the 100 block of Community Drive, has been charged with five counts of misdemeanor DUI and several related summary offenses, including accidents causing damage to an unattended vehicle, failing to stop and give information or render aid, and driving with a suspended license, all in connection with an overnight collision on the 300 block of Central Drive on July 13, police said.

Court documents indicate that just before 1 that morning, officers responded to the area for a reported vehicle accident and found a heavily damaged white Toyota Avalon sitting in the road unoccupied and still running, and a Chevrolet Silverade, also very damaged, that had apparently been struck by the Toyota. The owners of the Silverado had been woken up by the sound of the crash and were outside by their vehicle, police said.

After running the license plate and canvassing the area for the driver, cops found Olomua sitting outside an apartment approximately a half-mile from the accident scene about half an hour later, and she admitted that she was the driver of the vehicle and had crashed into the Silverado, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Olomua’s breath reeked of alcohol and she showed other signs of intoxication, then subsequently failed field sobriety tests; a portable breath test indicated she had a blood alcohol concentration of .209 percent, and she was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence, the affidavit states.

A toxicology report later showed that Olomua’s blood alcohol concentration at the time her blood was taken shortly after her arrest was .21 percent, and that she tested positive for marijuana, court documents indicate. The level of marijuana in her system was not specified in the affidavit.

A summons has been issued for Olomua to appear in Lansdale district court on Aug. 12 for a preliminary hearing in the matter.
