Police launch manhunt for bank robber
Suspect allegedly stated he had a gun when he stole cash from the Santander Bank at 1224 Welsh Road on Aug. 15, police said
Montgomery Township police have asked for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say robbed a Santander Bank branch on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Authorities said that just before 1:30 p.m. that afternoon, a black male — described as being in his early- to mid-thirties, of average height and slim built with a well-trimmed beard and mustache, and wearing a gray suit and baseball cap — walked into the Santander Bank at 1224 Welsh Road and handed a teller a note requesting money while stating he had a gun.
No gun was displayed during the bank robbery, police said, and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an unspecified amount of cash, according to police.
No one was injured during the robbery, police said.
