Ge­orge G. Wil­liams of Har­leysville

Ge­orge G. Wil­liams, 79, of Har­leysville, passed way November 8, 2018. He was the lov­ing hus­band of the late Mar­i­lyn (Ruch) Wil­liams when, upon her death in 2014, they had been hap­pily mar­ried for 49 years.

Born March 18, 1939, in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Gor­don and Ada (Wray) Wil­liams.

Ge­orge was a proud patriot. He served in the US. Navy and was sta­tioned on the USS En­ter­prise, the world’s first nu­clear-pow­ered air­craft car­rier. Af­ter the Navy, Ge­orge worked in con­struc­tion and then worked for Com­mer­cial Floor­ing Sys­tems for over 20 years.

He was an ac­tive Freema­son for many years.

Ge­orge loved the out­doors through­out his life. He en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing es­pe­cially at Lake Hauto. He also liked wa­ter ski­ing and snow­mo­bil­ing. Ge­orge showed his loved for the out­doors when he trav­eled with his wife Mar­i­lyn to many na­tional parks across the coun­try. He es­pe­cially loved their trips to Alaska.

Ge­orge en­joyed work­ing around the house and es­pe­cially loved mak­ing doll­houses for the fam­ily. He will be re­mem­bered as a de­voted fam­ily man. He loved spend­ing time with his six broth­ers and sis­ters and later in life his five grand­chil­dren.

His sur­vivors in­clude two daugh­ters, Sherri Wil­liams (Lee Sossen), NYC, and Monique As­mann (Dave), Har­leysville; grand­chil­dren, Ryan As­mann, Cait­lyn As­mann, Story Sossen, Matthew As­mann and Townes Sossen; brother, Gor­don ”Bud“Wil­liams (Vir­ginia “Ginny”), Lans­dale.

He is pre­de­ceased by si­b­lings, Nancy Sil­fies, Ethel Hol­son­bach, Sarah ”Sally” Gower, Mil­li­cent “Meme” Lad­ner, and Larry Wil­liams.

There will be a visi­ta­tion start­ing 1 p.m. Tues­day, November 13, 2018, at Ad­vent Lutheran Church, 470 Lan­dis Road, Har­leysville, PA 19438, with ser­vices at 1:30 p.m. Mil­i­tary honors will fol­low the church ser­vice. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Me­mo­rial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, do­na­tions may be made in Mar­i­lyn’s mem­ory to Ad­vent Lutheran Church, at the above ad­dress, or to the Shin­ers Hospi­tal for Chil­dren, Of­fice of De­vel­op­ment, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
