Ethel D. “Snook” Bair Run­kle, 87, of Frackville, passed away Tues­day at Broad Moun­tain Health & Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­ter, Frackville.

Born Feb. 20, 1930, in Auburn, she was a daugh­ter of the late Alva and Dorothy Brinich Bair.

Ethel worked as an as­sis­tant man­ager at Penn­syl­va­nia Na­tional Bank, Auburn. She had also worked as an ex­ec­u­tive as­sis­tant at Bound Brook Bear­ing Co., Auburn, and Ryan In­sur­ance, Pottsville. She was a for­mer mem­ber of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Auburn, and had at­tended Trin­ity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. She en­joyed read­ing and knit­ting.

Ethel grad­u­ated from Auburn High School and then at­tended Mccann Busi­ness School, Pottsville.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Ethel was pre­ceded in death by her grand­son, Jared J. Run­kle.

Ethel is sur­vived by her two sons, Robert L. Run­kle Jr., hus­band of Lorna M. Morte Run­kle, Clark, N.J., and Keith J. Run­kle, hus­band of Cather­ine Gulden Run­kle, Len­hartsville. She is also sur­vived by her grand­chil­dren, Joseph M. Run­kle, Pa­trick M. Run­kle, Ian A. Run­kle, hus­band of Hilarie Con­drack Run­kle, Kim­berly A. Run­kle Os­borne, wife of John Os­borne, and Brit­tany L. Run­kle Russo, wife of Michael Russo; great­grand­daugh­ters, Mack­ayla and Alexan­dra; sis­ter, Joann “Mick” Bair Dal­ton, wife of Wil­liam Dal­ton, Or­wigs­burg.

Funeral ser­vices for Ethel will be pri­vate. Burial will take place in Schuylkill Me­mo­rial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Wal­bert Funeral Home & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vices PC, Fleet­wood, is hon­ored to be car­ing for Ethel and her fam­ily.
