PEN­NDOT plans road­work in county

The state Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion warns mo­torists about work planned for this week in Schuylkill County. All work will be done be­tween 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day. The fol­low­ing work is slated: • Crews will do drainage work on Bucks Moun­tain Road in North Union Town­ship, be­tween state Route 339 and Ring­town Road. There will be lane re­stric­tions with flag­ging. Other drainage work will be done on Val­ley Road be­tween Buck Run and Heckscherville in Cass Town­ship.

• PEN­NDOT will be patch­ing pot­holes at state routes 309 and 209 in Ta­maqua, as well as on Raven Run Road in West Ma­hanoy Town­ship be­tween state Route 54 and Vil­lage Road.

• A bridge will be un­der re­pair on In­ter­state 81 be­tween the Route 61 and De­lano ex­its. There will be lane re­stric­tions in both di­rec­tions.

• Other work, caus­ing lane re­stric­tions and flag­ging, will be done on Land­ingville Road in South Man­heim Town­ship be­tween state Route 443 and Berne Drive; also on state Route 125 be­tween Don­ald­son and Good Spring.

Mo­torists can check con­di­tions on ma­jor road­ways by visit­ing 511PA, which is free and avail­able 24 hours a day, pro­vides traf­fic de­lay warn­ings, weather fore­casts, traf­fic speed in­for­ma­tion and ac­cess to more than 825 traf­fic cam­eras. The 511PA ser­vice is also avail­able through a smart­phone ap­pli­ca­tion for iphone and An­droid de­vices by call­ing 5-1-1 or by fol­low­ing re­gional Twit­ter alerts ac­ces­si­ble on the 511PA web­site.
