The Republican Herald - - COMMENTARY - Tower City

The caller from Frackville gave the months in which different religious events occur and asked when is the month that we honor God the Father. My answer is every day of the week, not just a month. Schuylkill Haven

• No matter how you feel about the issue of a protester and the national anthem, don’t you think that the president of the United States has more important issues to worry about than that? Or a statue, which is a private community’s decision? Doesn’t the commander in chief have more important things to worry about? I guess not.

• I’m a Vietnam veteran. I have a word for President Trump: These NFL and basketball players who don’t want to stand for the national anthem, send them a draft card. They’re millionaires, it’s a joke. If you read between the lines you know what I’m talking about. North Manheim Twp.

• For the person from Frackville, who wants to know what month we honor the Lord: It says in Psalm 145, Verse 2, “Every day will I bless thee.” Well, that’s the answer.

Pottsville The guy in Pottsville is half right, you can mask any drug. But you can’t mask a blood test. Orwigsburg • I can understand someone not being satisfied with our government’s officials. but these NFL players that are disrespectful to the country that gave them the opportunities they have should be fired and jailed for treason.

• As a former Marine, I am outraged at these NFL players not standing for the national anthem. I will no longer watch any NFL football games.
