3 area col­lege foot­ball play­ers earn Mac hon­ors

AN­NVILLE — Ma­hanoy Area grad­u­ate Rob Van Horn was one of three area col­lege foot­ball play­ers hon­ored Tues­day when the Mid­dle At­lantic Con­fer­ence an­nounced its All-MAC foot­ball Team.

Van Horn, a se­nior right tackle at Le­banon Val­ley Col­lege, was named to the first­team of­fense, while Pine Grove’s Guy Zimmerman and Up­per Dauphin’s Trey Camp­bell earned hon­or­able men­tion hon­ors.

Van Horn started all 10 games for the Dutch­men and graded out as the team’s top of­fen­sive line­man. He was a key cog in an of­fense that led the MAC in time of pos­ses­sion, was ranked sec­ond in the con­fer­ence in to­tal of­fense and al­lowed just 14 sacks all sea­son.

Zimmerman, a se­nior de­fen­sive end at Le­banon Val­ley, recorded 36 tack­les (24 solo), in­clud­ing 6.5 tack­les for loss and three sacks. He led the Dutch­men with five quar­ter­back hur­ries and force a pair of fum­bles.

Camp­bell, a se­nior run­ning back at King’s Col­lege, earned his first postseason in­di­vid­ual award by be­ing se­lected as a full­back, al­though he played the hy­brid H-back po­si­tion this sea­son. He posted ca­reer-highs of 43 catches for 498 yards with five touch­downs and av­er­aged 11.6 yards each re­cep­tion. In his fi­nal ca­reer game against Wilkes on Satur­day, Camp­bell caught a ca­reer-high 10 passes.
