Schuylkill baseball, softball games rescheduled to tonight
the schuylkill League baseball and softball finals are postponed to tonight.
The Schuylkill League baseball and softball champi- onship games scheduled for Thursday night have been postponed due to wet grounds.
The Schuylkill League softball championship between Division I champion North Schuylkill (20-1) and Division I wild card Pine Grove (17-4) will be played at 6 p.m. today at Blue Mountain High School’s Patton Field.
The Schuylkill League baseball championship between Division I champion Blue Mountain (18-3) and Division II champion Schuylkill Haven (18-3) will be played at 6 p.m. today at Walter Stump Stadium in Pine Grove.
Tickets for both games cost $5 for adults and $3 for students. LOYALSOCK TWP. — Damon Yost singled and scored in the third inning to account for the Tide’s lone run in a non-league loss to the Lancers.
Yost scored on a sacrifice fly by Aiden Stanton. Pottsville was held to just one hit, as Loyalsock took control with a three-run first inning and led from start to finish.
Pottsville’s season continues in the District 11 Class 4A playoffs, where the Tide will be the No. 7 seed and play the No. 2 seed, either Northwestern Lehigh or Palisades, in Monday’s quarterfinals.
H.s. softball shamokin 12 Lourdes 2
COAL TWP. — Lauren Ayers went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored for Lourdes in a non-league loss to Shamokin.
Emily Yuskoski had the other hit for the Red Raiders and scored a run.
Andrea Segura went 3-for3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Indians.
