Dolores M. Weller, 84, a resident of Weston Living Center at Pinebrook, Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday.
Born in Pottsville, on Feb. 1, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Kuhl Hinkle.
She was the widow of Ross H. Weller Sr., who passed away Jan. 22, 2013.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Hinkle.
She was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, and retired after working as a custodian for Blue Mountain High School.
Dolores was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Weller and companion, Terry Casner, Pine Grove, Elyse Gilbert and husband, Mark, Schuylkill Haven, and Jennifer Henning and husband, Mark, Bloomsburg; and son, Ross H. Weller Jr. and wife, Barbara, Wayne Township. Dolores is also survived by grandchildren, George H., Daniel and Jessica Elo, and Tyler and Justin Weller; and great-grandchildren, Karessa and Sarah Edwards, and Nathan and Brandon Elo.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at EblingStabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time service Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Violet S. Herb, 92, a resident of Green Valley Skilled Nursing Center since January and formerly of Main Road, Pitman, passed away Wednesday at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.
Violet was born in Spring Glen, on Feb, 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Maude B. Shade and Harry E. Hoke.
She graduated from the former Hubley Township High School in 1943.
She was a seamstress for local area factories and worked with her husband in agriculture.
She was a member of the Mahantongo Fire Company Women’s Auxiliary and helped with the Mahantongo Valley Ambulance Association for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford W. Herb, who passed away July 9, 1997. She was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Dorothy Mitch, Donald and James Dunleavy, Leon, Charles, Marlin and Harry Hoke.
Violet is survived by two daughters, Linda D., wife of Marlin Heim, Pitman, and Audrey A. Herb, Harrisburg; a brother, Clayton Hoke; three grandchildren, Monica Straub and her husband, Brad, Harrisburg, Lanette Beebe and her husband, Steve, Hudgins, Va., Marlin C. Heim, Winfield; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Beebe, Rochelle Straub, Lilah Beebe, Jacob Beebe, Brady Straub, Benjamin Heim and Braelyn Heim.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church, Main Road, Pitman, with the funeral service following at 10 a.m. with Pastor Lauren Blatt officiating.
