Brieze Bess McCabe, 17, of Kulp­mont, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Mon­day at Le­high Val­ley Hos­pi­talS chuylkill E. Nor­we­gian Street.

Born in Pottsville on April 7, 2001, she was a daugh­ter of Corey Michael McCabe and Ash­ley Ann Fre­itas and Lisa Marie Geist and Archie Myles Moore.

Brieze at­tended Pottsville and Mount Carmel schools and worked at the Old Mill at Knoebels Grove, Elys­burg.

While Brieze lived a short 17 years here on Earth, she has had a tremen­dous im­pact on many. Her laugh was con­ta­gious and her smile light­ened up a room. She loved to cook and lis­ten to mu­sic and en­joyed singing and dancing. Brieze was in love with her son, Cabrian, and of­ten was called “Bird” or “Sweezy.” While Brieze may have strug­gled, she was brave and coura­geous and will be sadly missed by many.

She was pre­ceded in death by her ma­ter­nal grand­fa­ther, Gary Geist, and her pa­ter­nal grand­fa­ther, Arthur Sa­muels.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Brieze is sur­vived by her boyfriend, Dashawn Cow­ard; her son, Cabrian Myles Cow­ard; sis­ter, Kori McCabe; brother, Ta­vian McCabe; twin sis­ter, Bianca McCabe; sis­ter, Makiyah McCabe; ma­ter­nal grand­mother, Mary Zarko and her hus­band, Ziggy; pa­ter­nal grand­mother, Ch­eryl McCabe Carter; ma­ter­nal great-grand­moth­ers, Fae Geist and Pa­tri­cia Bar­rett Weaver; niece, Ameiyah Grace McCabe.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life ser­vice will be held at Robert A. Evans Jr. Fu­neral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Car­bon, at 1 p.m. June 18, with her fa­ther, Corey, of­fi­ci­at­ing. Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to a view­ing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mon­day at the fu­neral home. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
