Trick- or- treat night in Foster Township will be held from 6 to 8 p. m. Oct. 31 with a rain date of Nov. 1.
The annual community Halloween parade will be held at 2 p. m. Oct. 28 beginning on Julia Street and moving east on Main Street to the Girard Hose Company, where treats will be given to children, sponsored by the Good Time Club.
Glow Night in the Park will be held at 6 p. m. Saturday in Gordon Community Park. All ages are welcome to wear costumes and bring decorated Jack- o’- Lanterns. Prizes will be awarded and the event will also include food and music. For more information, call 570- 8751049.

The borough’s annual Halloween parade is set to begin at 6: 30 p. m. Oct. 27. Trick- or- treat night will be from 6 to 8 p. m. Oct. 31, according to a borough press release. A haunted house will be held from 6 to 9 p. m. Oct. 27 and 28 at 2 E. Sunbury St. Tickets in advance with times to enter are $ 6; tickets at the event will be $ 4 per visitor with no time designations. A panel presentation regarding novel control measures to combat infectious diseases will be held beginning at 7 p. m. Wednesday in the John E. Morgan Auditorium, Student Community Center, Penn State Schuylkill. It is free and open to the public. Several knowledgeable speakers will be featured.
The Black Diamond Writers’ Network will meet from 10 a. m. to noon Saturday at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St. It is free and open to the public. The guest speaker will be Kevin Smith, a Schuylkill County multimedia artist with a passion for writing and words, according to a network release. Families living within the Tamaqua Area School District who need free diapers must make their requests by Wednesday. Diaper Depot, a ministry of Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, will distribute diapers on Saturday by appointment only. People requesting diapers must provide proof of residence and a birth certificate or some other identification for each child being served. Diaper sizes, from newborn to size 6, are available for children up to age 4.
