Buck run

Trick- or- treat night in Foster Town­ship will be held from 6 to 8 p. m. Oct. 31 with a rain date of Nov. 1.


The an­nual com­mu­nity Hal­loween pa­rade will be held at 2 p. m. Oct. 28 be­gin­ning on Ju­lia Street and mov­ing east on Main Street to the Gi­rard Hose Com­pany, where treats will be given to chil­dren, spon­sored by the Good Time Club.


Glow Night in the Park will be held at 6 p. m. Satur­day in Gor­don Com­mu­nity Park. All ages are wel­come to wear cos­tumes and bring dec­o­rated Jack- o’- Lanterns. Prizes will be awarded and the event will also in­clude food and mu­sic. For more in­for­ma­tion, call 570- 8751049.

The bor­ough’s an­nual Hal­loween pa­rade is set to be­gin at 6: 30 p. m. Oct. 27. Trick- or- treat night will be from 6 to 8 p. m. Oct. 31, ac­cord­ing to a bor­ough press re­lease. A haunted house will be held from 6 to 9 p. m. Oct. 27 and 28 at 2 E. Sun­bury St. Tick­ets in ad­vance with times to en­ter are $ 6; tick­ets at the event will be $ 4 per vis­i­tor with no time des­ig­na­tions. Schuylkill haven

A panel pre­sen­ta­tion re­gard­ing novel con­trol mea­sures to com­bat in­fec­tious dis­eases will be held be­gin­ning at 7 p. m. Wed­nes­day in the John E. Mor­gan Au­di­to­rium, Stu­dent Com­mu­nity Cen­ter, Penn State Schuylkill. It is free and open to the pub­lic. Sev­eral knowl­edge­able speak­ers will be fea­tured.


The Black Di­a­mond Writ­ers’ Net­work will meet from 10 a. m. to noon Satur­day at the Tamaqua Pub­lic Li­brary, 30 S. Rail­road St. It is free and open to the pub­lic. The guest speaker will be Kevin Smith, a Schuylkill County mul­ti­me­dia artist with a pas­sion for writ­ing and words, ac­cord­ing to a net­work re­lease. Fam­i­lies liv­ing within the Tamaqua Area School Dis­trict who need free di­a­pers must make their re­quests by Wed­nes­day. Di­a­per De­pot, a min­istry of Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, will dis­trib­ute di­a­pers on Satur­day by ap­point­ment only. Peo­ple re­quest­ing di­a­pers must pro­vide proof of res­i­dence and a birth cer­tifi­cate or some other iden­ti­fi­ca­tion for each child be­ing served. Di­a­per sizes, from new­born to size 6, are avail­able for chil­dren up to age 4.
