PsU- schuylkill cross coun­try places at na­tion­als

VIR­GINIA BEACH, Va. — Penn State Schuylkill’s men’s and women’s cross coun­try teams achieved their high­est fin­ishes in school his­tory at the USCAA Cross Coun­try Na­tional Cham­pi­onships on Fri­day.

Led by Wil­lie Streisel, who fin­ished in 21st place with a time of 28: 35 on the 8K course, the PSU- Schuylkill men placed sev­enth in a field of 19 teams. Adam Bahrey placed 41st in 29: 40. Ian McGowan ran 30: 46, fin­ish­ing 60th; while Matt Derr clocked a 30: 47 to place 61st. Kevin Stan­cav­age placed 63rd in 30: 52. Tris­tan Dickey ran a time of 33: 00 to fin­ish 88th. Omar Walker placed 91st in 33: 07. Ja­son Liver­pool placed 99th in 33: 41, fol­lowed by Nico Gran­ito, 108th in 34: 36; and Eric Thomp­son, who placed 130th in 40: 52.

Led by two- time PSUAC cham­pion Alexis Luna, the PSU- Schuylkill women fin­ished eighth in a field of 17 teams. Luna ran a time of 25: 49 on the 6K course, plac­ing 17th. Jen­nie Li fin­ished 38th in 28: 54. Melissa Ramirez placed 47th in 30: 55. Carly Teaschenko ran 33: 35, plac­ing 57th; while Jas­mine Canales placed 61st in 34: 35.
