Anthanasia E. Moncrief allegedly fatally shot her tenant, Richard Spadel, in dispute over rent
MANAYUNK >> A Manayunk landlord has been accused of fatally shooting her tenant during a dispute over money this weekend.
Richard Spadel, 32, died early Saturday morning in a residence on the 4300 block of Boone Street in Manayunk after allegedly being shot by his landlord, according to Philadelphia police.
Anthanasia E. Moncrief, 28, has been charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime with intent, according to court documents.
Moncrief was Spadel’s land- lord, with both living in the Boone Street house, according to police.
The two got into an dispute over rent, with the argument culminating in Moncrief allegedly shooting Spadel in his upper right back, according to police.
The incident took place at approximately 2:41 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Bail was denied at Moncrief’s preliminary arraignment Saturday night, and she is being held at Riverside Correctional Facility, according to court documents.
Moncrief’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 8, according to court documents.
