ROXBOR­OUGH >> The Roxbor­ough Manayunk Wis­sahickon His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will meet Wed­nes­day, May 24, at 7 p.m. at Jour­ney’s Way, 403 Rec­tor St., Roxbor­ough.

Park­ing is avail­able on the lot or on the street.

Mem­bers and guests are en­cour­aged to at­tend when His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety Pres­i­dent Lynn Trim­born will in­tro­duce Chris­tine Spencer, di­rec­tor of mar­ket­ing for Philadel­phia’s Mu­seum of the Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion. . Spencer­will de­tail “The Mak­ing of the Mu­seum of the Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion” fol­lowed by a ques­tion-an­dan­swer ses­sion.

“The Mu­seum ex­plores the dy­namic story of the Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion us­ing an ex­pan­sive col­lec­tion of Rev­o­lu­tion­ary-era weapons, per­sonal items, doc­u­ments, and works of art. Im­mer­sive gal­leries, theater ex­pe­ri­ences, and recre­ated his­tor­i­cal mo­ments bring to life the events, peo­ple, and ideals of our na­tion’s found­ing and en­gage peo­ple in the his­tory and con­tin­u­ing rel­e­vance of the Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion,” ac­cord­ing to am­revmu­seum.org.
