The East Falls Historical Society will sponsor The Return of Brewing to the Falls — AVisit to theWissachickon Brewing Co. Saturday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. as the society visits Wissahickon Brewing Co. for a talk about the history of brewing in East Falls, a guided tour of the facility and a taste of four different 5-ounce beers.

The Falls of Schuylkill (East Falls) at one timewas home to several breweries and at least one beer garden. We still might lament the loss of Hohenadel as a notable beer and the loss of its landmark building, which once stood along Indian Queen Lane. But brewing returned when the Wissahickon Brewing Company opened.

The East Falls Historical Society has arranged for this opportunity to learn some history of beer in the Falls and to taste Wissa- chickon Brewing Co.’s products

The cost is $20, which can be paid at the door; no registration is necessary.

Wissachickon Brewing Co. is located at 3705 W. Schoolhouse Lane.
