Pints for North Light to return
Nov. 15 fundraiser to support community center
Local breweries will be on site at the Manayunk Brewery & Restaurant, 4120 Main St., Manayunk, and will be pouring as part of the annual Pints for North Light fundraising event set for Thursday, Nov. 15.
Breweries will include Attic Brewing Co., Bald Birds Brewery, Cape May Brewing,
Crime & Punishment, Evil Genius, Levante Brewing, Manayunk Brewing Co., Round Guys Brewing with an autumn brown ale brewed for the event, Stone and Wissahickon Brewing Co.
Home brew will be offered by the brewers at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
Attendees can also try a signature cocktail made with Liberty Gin from the W. P. Palmer Distilling Co. on Shurs Lane.
Area restaurants will be offering food to enjoy with the beer, including pizza from the Couch Tomato, hoagies from Dalessandro’s, sweet potato fries from the Dawson Street Pub, pulled pork sliders from Deke’s Carryout & Catering, sushi from Dream House Asian Bistro, antipasto boards from Santucci’s, assorted appetizers from The Spicy Belly and cheesesteak eggrolls from Throwbaxx Bar & Grille.
All this is included in the ticket price, along with a commemorative pint glass.
Additional income comes from event sponsors. This year Pints is supported by Bryn Mawr Trust, Copper Street Real Estate, Crime & Punishment, East Main Manayunk Apartments, Fountain Street Auto, GLASSWorks, the Law Offices of Peter L. Johnston, Lucky’s Last Chance, McGovern & Associates and Throwbaxx Bar & Grille.
Pints has raised more than $109,000 in funding for North Light since it began 10 years ago, which helps to continue services for more than 3,000 Philadelphians annually. This past year, North Light’s food cupboard provided more than 177,000 pounds of goods to neighbors, the center’s summer camp children learned the city’s history and the Youth Workforce Development Initiative prepared 175 young adults for success.
