The Sacramento Bee - - Nation & World -

Bill Reece was born in Sacramento on May 18, 1933. He passed peacefully on October 31, 2018, at the age of 85 in Hospice at the Carlton Elk Grove, CA. Bill had moved into the Carlton Independent Living in Fall 2013 after the passing of his wife of 57 years, Jean Reece, on Feb. 5, 2013. Bill was a caring father, successful businessman and generous volunteer. Bill is survived by his two children, Susan Reece and Husband Michael, and Russ Reece and his wife, Kathy. Bill built his business of Reece Bookkeeping and became quite successful with a large clientele of individuals and businesses. In 2001, Bill retired and turned the business over to his daughter, Susan. Besides his business, Bill was a dedicated volunteer. He taught reading skills at the Boy’s Ranch and at local libraries, volunteered for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department for many years and also volunteered for various sporting events in the Sacramento area such as the California International Marathon. Bill also volunteered at the Sac International Airport at the help desk. Bill elected not to have formal funeral services. Instead, raise a glass in memory of Bill and listen to some Frank Sinatra. In remembrance, also please consider a donation to the SSPCA or your favorite charity.
