TV best bets for Nov. 11-17
DON’T MISS: “The
52nd Annual CMA Awards” — Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood apparently love this gig because they’re hosting it for the 11th straight year. The performance list for what is gleefully touted as “country music’s biggest night” includes Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley and more.
SUNDAY: We regular folks have no say in the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys. But we rule “The E! People’s Choice Awards.” And it’s a trophy fest that reflects the times with categories such as Bingeworthy Show, Pop Podcast and Best Revival of a TV show. (9 p.m., E!, USA and Syfy).
SUNDAY: British funny woman Julia Davis wrote, directed and stars in “Sally4ever.” It’s a dark, very offbeat comedy about a woman (Catherine Shepherd) who is about to marry her nebbish boyfriend (Alex Macqueen) when she encounters a free-spirited lesbian (Davis) who changes her life. (10:30 p.m., HBO).
MONDAY: The preliminary rounds are over on “The Voice” and it’s time to get down to Night 1 of the “playoffs.” The Top 24 artists begin performing in front of coaches Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. (8 p.m., NBC).
