EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. » Ai­dan Rice and Evan Farr both tal­lied two goals and an as­sist for Saratoga Springs in an 8-1 rout of Columbia in a Sub­ur­ban Coun­cil con­test Tues­day.

Conor Mur­phy, Ai­dan O’Mally, Si­mon Smith and Peter Moller also scored as the state-ranked, first-place Blue Streaks im­proved their record to 12-1-1. Cameron Prowinskee scored as Columbia (0-14) avoided the shutout. SHAKER 2, GUILDERLAND 1 » Guilderland took a 1-0 lead when Evan Locke re­ceived a per­fectly placed through ball and found the back of the net. A few min­utes be­fore the half, Shaker’s Evan Austin headed the ball down to Ryan Wat­son who scored to make it 1-1 at the break. Shaker’s de­fense, es­pe­cially Ad­di­son Bunkoff, Jack Cheney, and Timmy O’Con­nor, played well the rest of the way and with about 15 min­utes to go Za­heer Irani took a cor­ner that Ryan Ea­gan volleyed into the net to give Shaker the 2-1 road vic­tory.

The only goal of the night came with 18:50 left in the 1st half, when Thomas Gen­tile scored a header on a cross from Nevin Gre­nier. Jared Gre­gorek and Jared Ever­leth pro­vided the other Schuylerville (11-2) goals and keeper Bran­don Craft made one save to earn the shutout.

Ch­es­ney romer led the Blue Dev­ils with eight kills, Emily Pow­ell added eight kills, 10 digs and Katie Hayes fin­ished with 18 digs. Saratoga’s Bri­ann Bar­ringer fin­ished with seven kills, Emmy Krum had 15 as­sists and Goldie Hell­man tal­lied six kills, two digs in the loss. BALL­STON SPA 3, SCHENECTADY0» Ball­ston Spa girls var­sity vol­ley­ball beat Sch­enec­tady 25-8, 25-12, and 2514. For the Scot­ties, Lau­ren Ker­sch had 12 as­sists, Me­gan McMa­hon had 10 kills, five digs and two blocks and Paige Davis added five digs. EMMA WILLARD 3, MECHANICVILLE 0 » The Jesters won 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 in a Wasaren League. Katie Ben­north and Khaki­rat Raji both fin­ished with seven kills and An­gelina Fer­ritto had 18 as­sists to lead Emma Willard. Lyn­d­say Robens fin­ished with five kills for the Red Raiders (1-10). GAL­WAY 3, O-E-SJ 0 » Gal­way de­feated OESJ by the scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-16 to im­prove to 9-1 over­all and in the WAC. Gal­way was led by Lind­sey Zaw­isa with 11 kills and 14 digs. Schuyler Arnold also led the way with 16 points, nine aces and 12 as­sists. Sa­man­tha Grant added seven kills and six blocks for the Ea­gles.

Grace Ho­tal­ing scored to en­sure the Ea­gles avoided the shutout. BALL­STON SPA 7, SCHENECTADY1» Ball­ston Spa’s se­nior night scor­ing started off with cap­tain Caitlin Wa­nia and con­tin­ued with Lily Ur­ban, Maura Smith, Ju­lia Bar­num, Mikayla Kelly, Abby Yet­tru and Sarah Rule with an as­sist from Jor­dyn Os­tran­der. The goal for Sch­enec­tady came from Alexis Maye. The Scot­ties fin­ish up reg­u­lar sea­son play on Thursday at Burnt Hills. MECHANICVILLE 2, SCHUYLERVILLE 1 » Mechanicville’s Macken­zie Bowie scored with less than eight min­utes left to earn a non­league win over Schuylerville in a matchup of stat­er­anked squads.

Ne­vaeh D’Aloia scored off an as­sist from Brynn Mur­phy to put the Red Raiders (12-0-1, 13-0-1) ahead but Amy Moreau scored for the Black Horses (10-2 Foothills, 11-3-1) in the 57th minute to make it 1-1 be­fore Bowie’s win­ning goal.

Caitlin Kelle­her made a match-high eight saves for Schuylerville and Sa­van­nah Bowie stopped three shots for the visitors.

NENY PGA TOUR CHAM­PI­ONSHIP » An­ders Matt­son, Direc­tor of In­struc­tion at Saratoga National, shot a 69-74 for a to­tal score of 1-over 143 at Shaker Ridge Coun­try Club to edge Hi­land Park as­sis­tant pro Scott Bir­liner who shot 2-over 72-72-144. Matt­son took home a $1,250 first place prize while Ber­liner got $1,050 as run­ner-up.

Nor­man­side CC’s Justin Hearly was four back of the win­ner in third place while Dal Daily of Wind­ham CC was fourth and Golf Galaxy’s John Neet and Hi­land Park’s Jim Jef­fers tied for fifth.

Col­lege field hockey

SKID­MORE 2, NEW PALTZ 0 » Caro­line Saros opened the scor­ing then Saratoga Springs grad Sarah Win­ters made it 2-0 late in the first half as the Thor­ough­breds (9-3) won on the road. Skid­more’s goal­keeper did not have to make a save to earn the shutout.
