PORTER COR­NERS - Rita M. Millis, 73, of North Green­field Road, passed away un­ex­pect­edly Mon­day, Feb. 12, 2018 at Al­bany Med­i­cal Cen­ter. Born on March 19, 1944 in Porter Cor­ners, she was the daugh­ter of the late Fred and Rose (Chan­dler) Van Dusen. Rita mar­ried Thomas E. Millis Sr. on Sept. 14, 1963 in Saratoga Springs. The cou­ple have resided in Porter Cor­ners for 50 years.She was a mem­ber of the Vic­tory Bible Bap­tist Church of Porter Cor­ners. Rita en­joyed col­lect­ing owls, auc­tions, farm­ing, and spend­ing time with her grand­chil­dren. Be­sides her par­ents, she was also pre­de­ceased by her son, Thomas Earl Millis Jr.; four sis­ters, Es­ther Van Dusen, Rosey O’Don­ald, Eva Far­row, Doris Van Dusen. Sur­vivors be­sides her hus­band of 54 years, Thomas E. Millis Sr. of Porter Cor­ners in­clude five chil­dren, David Earl Millis of Porter Cor­ners, Nel­lie All­man of Gan­sevoort, Laura Senecal (Robert Jr.) of Ballston Spa, Peggy Sue Welty (Cur­tis) of Penn­syl­va­nia, Amy M. Mosher (Brian) of Gloversville; nine grand­chil­dren and many great-grand­chil­dren; three sib­lings, Fred Van Dusen (Marie) of Saratoga Springs, Roger Van Dusen (Glenda) of Saratoga Springs and Nancy Tay­lor (Ken­neth) of Porter Cor­ners; and sev­eral aunts, un­cles, nieces, neph­ews and cousins.A cel­e­bra­tion of life will be held at 1 p.m., Satur­day, Feb. 17, 2018 at the Vic­tory Bible Bap­tist Church, 4532 Rt. 9N, Porter Cor­ners.The fam­ily wishes to thank the doc­tors and nurses at Al­bany Med­i­cal Cen­ter for the kind­ness and care given to Rita dur­ing her ill­ness.The fam­ily sug­gests memo­ri­als take the form of do­na­tions to the Vic­tory Bible Bap­tist Church, 4532 Rt. 9N, Porter Cor­ners, NY 12859.Ar­range­ments are un­der the di­rec­tion of the Dens­more Fu­neral Home, Inc., 7 Sher­man Ave., Corinth.
