Man faces charges

He hit build­ing with ve­hi­cle, deputies say

CORINTH, N.Y. » A Corinth man is fac­ing felony charges af­ter po­lice said he pur­posely drove his ve­hi­cle into a build­ing dur­ing a fight.

Ni­cholas A. Car­leton, 36, was charged Mon­day with three counts of first-de­gree reck­less en­dan­ger­ment and two counts of third­de­gree crim­i­nal mis­chief, both felonies. He was also charged with driv- ing while in­toxi- cated, en­dan­ger- ing the wel­fare of a child and re­sist­ing ar­rest, mis­de­meanors. He was ar­raigned in Corinth Town Court and taken into cus­tody to await fur­ther court pro­ceed­ings.

Ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease, Saratoga County Sher­iff’s Of­fice deputies were called to a fight in progress at Car­leton’s 250 Main St. res­i­dence. Deputies said Car­leton, in an in­tox­i­cated state, in­ten­tion­ally drove his ve­hi­cle into an oc­cu­pied dwelling sev­eral times.

Deputies said Car­leton phys­i­cally re­sisted of­fi­cers’ ef­forts to take him into cus­tody, strik­ing him­self in the face and slam­ming his head off the hood of a pa­trol ve­hi­cle.
